On this pageThe endpoint
The European Commission’s guidance “Guidance Document: Digital Batteries Passport – data points by category” (v2.0, 15 August 2026) lists 71 data pointsand says, for each battery category, whether it must be filled from February 2027. The API follows that table one to one: every data point has a defined place in the API, and the obligation for your model’s category drives the completeness report.

The endpoint
GET /field-catalog serves the same table as data, so an integration can map its own columns against it — and notice when the guidance changes — instead of hard-coding a list. Each data point carries its obligation per category and a location: a field (with its API name, label, type, unit, granularity, Annex XIII point, access tier and the endpoint that writes it), a model_attribute, a document, a platform-managed value, a repetition of another point, or not_yet_applicable. Add ?category=LMTto get one category’s obligations only. The full response is documented under Account and catalogue.
curl "https://dppapi-production.up.railway.app/v1/field-catalog?category=LMT" \-H "Authorization: Bearer $DPP_API_KEY"Where values go
A passport is assembled from three layers. The catalogue tells you which layer each data point belongs to; the API field name is the key you use in that layer.
| Layer | Written with | Holds |
|---|---|---|
| Model | POST /models, PATCH /models/{id} — in fields | Design data every battery of the model shares: manufacturer, weight, capacity, voltages, composition, dismantling information. |
| Battery | POST /items — in fields, plus place and date of manufacture | Values of one physical battery at the moment it is placed on the market: measured capacity, power, resistance and their fade. |
| Events | POST /passports/{id}/events — in payload | Dynamic data over the battery’s life: state of health, cycle count, state of charge, temperature, negative events. Appended, never overwritten. |
A few data points are core properties rather than template fields — category and chemistry on the model, identifier, place and date of manufacture on the battery, status on the passport — and the EU Declaration of Conformity is a document uploaded with POST /models/{id}/documents.
Obligations
| Value | In the guidance | Effect in the API |
|---|---|---|
| Required | Mandatory | Listed under missing in the completeness report until filled. |
| If applicable | Optional, if applicable, or only applicable for some | Listed under conditionalUnset as a prompt, never a blocker. |
| N/A | Not to be filled or displayed as of February 2027 | Accepted and stored if sent, not counted, not shown on the public page. |
Access tiers
Annex XIII decides who may see each data point. The tier is enforced on the server: the public resolver only ever returns public-tier data, whatever is stored.
| Tier | Annex XIII | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
PUBLIC | Point 1 | Anyone who scans the QR code. |
LEGITIMATE_INTEREST | Points 2 and 4 | Persons with a legitimate interest, such as repairers and recyclers, and authorities. |
AUTHORITY | Point 3 | Notified bodies, market surveillance authorities and the Commission. |
Your own API key always sees every tier of your own passports, through GET /passports/{id}.
Event types
Each event has an eventType and a payload object keyed by API field names. These are the types and the dynamic data points that belong to each:
| eventType | Use | Payload keys |
|---|---|---|
SOH_READING | State of health readings. | stateOfCertifiedEnergyremainingCapacitycapacityFaderemainingPowerCapabilityremainingRoundTripEfficiencyselfDischargeEvolutionohmicResistance |
CYCLE_COUNT | Charge and discharge cycles so far. | cycleCount |
LIFETIME_METRIC | Cumulative lifetime figures. | energyThroughputcapacityThroughput |
OPERATING_CONDITION | Recorded operating conditions and time spent at extreme temperatures. | stateOfChargeoperatingTemperaturetimeExtremeHighTemptimeExtremeLowTemptimeChargingExtremeHighTemptimeChargingExtremeLowTemp |
NEGATIVE_EVENT | Accidents and other negative events. | negativeEvent |
PUT_INTO_SERVICE | The battery went into service. | date |
STATUS_CHANGE | A change of status, recorded in the history. | status |
REPAIR | A repair carried out on the battery. | Free-form |
PERFORMANCE_VALUE | Any other performance reading. | Free-form |
Explore all 71 data points
Numbered as in the guidance. Filter by category, obligation, Annex XIII point, access tier or kind of value, or search for a name, number, API field or event type; the filters are kept in the address, so a filtered view can be shared, and Export CSV downloads exactly the rows shown. Each API field links here as #field-<name> and each data point as #dp-<number>; “Written by” links to the call that sets the value.
