GS1 Digital Link

Last updated 1 June 2026

GS1 Digital Link is a standard that expresses GS1 identification keys, such as the GTIN, as a web URI so that a single QR code can both identify a product and resolve to online information about it. It is widely used to connect a data carrier to a digital product passport, allowing one scan to reach human- and machine-readable data. GS1 Digital Link is a common technical option for implementing the link between a battery’s QR code and its passport, used alongside the unique identifier required by the Regulation.
