Annex XIII of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 lists the information that must be available in the battery passport and via QR code. It also distinguishes which information is accessible to the general public versus to persons with a legitimate interest, the Commission, and notified bodies. The annex is the authoritative content checklist for what a compliant battery passport must contain.

Annex XIII organises passport information into access tiers. Some data is public (for example general battery characteristics and the carbon footprint), while more detailed data is reserved for persons with a legitimate interest, market surveillance authorities, the Commission, and notified bodies.

The detailed list of data attributes and their exact access tiers is set out in Annex XIII together with implementing acts adopted under the Regulation; manufacturers should map their data model directly to it.
