The EU declaration of conformity (DoC) is the document by which the manufacturer declares, under sole responsibility, that a battery meets the applicable requirements of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542. Drawing it up is a legal obligation before placing the battery on the market, it must follow the model structure set out in the Regulation’s annex, and by signing it the manufacturer assumes responsibility for the battery’s compliance. The DoC must be kept available to authorities for the period specified in the Regulation.
